Our story

Chef & Owner Jason Reed’s roots at 105 Trapelo road go back a long way. As the Executive Chef of vicki lee’s he learned to operate a professional kitchen, met his wife, and started a family. It only seems appropriate that he is starting his next venture here with the opening of Ovenbird Cafe. Ovenbird Cafe will continue the same tradition of providing Belmont with a place to go to for wholesome food, warm and inviting service and quality desserts.

So leave the fuss at the door, come inside, relax, and enjoy!

Our recipe

Quality ingredients

Good food starts with wholesome ingredients, that are handled with care and consideration, and ends with honest friendly service. We are passionate about what we do and strive to deliver food, pastry, and beverages that are consistently high in quality and flavor. In short, we enjoy what we do and think you will too.

Neighborhood and Community

At Ovenbird Cafe we understand the influence a business can have on its community and neighbors, and we aim to be a positive influence to both. We invite local artisans and craftspeople to showcase their talents on our shelves. We will also make a commitment to source as local as possible whenever possible as long as it doesn’t sacrifice quality. We think that keeping the dollar spent at our store within the community and region is just smart business.

Environmentally Responsible

Now more than ever is there a responsibility to operate with as little of a carbon footprint as possible. We will continue to push ourselves to be more eco friendly and hope you will too. We utilize compostable containers and silverware, invest in energy efficient equipment and lighting, use as much of the product as possible and any food waste that cannot be used is composted by Black Earth Compost.
